  • Willow is experiencing elements of sex trafficking because Ray has used her dependence on housing, transportation, and other basic needs to pressure her into meeting people for money in exchange for sexual activity. However, this is not the whole story of Willow’s experience. 

  • Willow is also experiencing elements of labour trafficking. Ray has used his control over her housing and support to pressure her into providing unpaid childcare and household help. Her dependence on him makes it difficult for her to refuse or leave. 

  • Mixed-type trafficking is most often comprised of simultaneous sex trafficking and labour trafficking. Willow has signs of two purposes: sexual exploitation and forced labour, making this a case of Mixed-Type Trafficking.
